Ajman

In 1971, the federation of the United Arab Emirates was founded, comprising the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and in 1972, Ras Al Khaimah.

Ajman may be the smallest Emirate encompassing only 259 square kilometres but it is brimming with rich history. Ajman’s history can be traced back to 3000 BC, as leading experts have excavated various archaeological sites around the region. Many different factors and influences have led to Ajman becoming the emirate we know today, namely a destination with rich culture and heritage.

For centuries, pearl diving and fishing have been the primary source of living and main income in the Gulf region.

A pioneer for boat building in the country, Ajman is home to the region’s biggest boat building centre. Ajman gave birth to a new era in ship building with its craftsmen passing down the skills of this cherished trade from generation to generation. Thousands of dhows that sailed through the Arabian Gulf were constructed in Ajman’s shipyards.

Ajman has recently seen a large investment in hotels, marina and attractions.

Ajman Marina – Ajman’s beautiful new 1.5km marina district is a stunning waterfront project that will include residential towers, hotels, a yacht club, restaurants, shops and a boardwalk for walkers, joggers as well as cyclists.

AL ZORAH – Enjoying popularity for its picturesque landscape of mangroves and an extensive seafront, Al Zorah is characterised by its lush greenery in an otherwise sandy Arabian Peninsula. This spectacular development features five-star beach resorts, creekside residences, a golf course and Ajman’s first golf club, a wellness centre, a boardwalk, fine dining restaurants, marinas and a variety of watersports along the creek. Additionally, visitors can charter beautiful yachts to explore the other side of Ajman.
